When it comes to buying a pram, it’s typically a very exciting time and one of the key milestones during the pregnancy. It’s a big purchase, and can take time to consider and to choose the right product, or products. Depending on what you buy, it’s likely to be one of your highest expenses before the baby arrives. Also, talk to us about lead-times of your pram and/or choice of colour – while we can typically bring them in quickly, there can occasionally be supplier stock issues, and, at times there can be a couple of months to wait on a few specific models. Having said that, we would normally have most prams here and available for you within around a week.
Here at Little Peas, we’d generally encourage you to come into store as soon as you’re ready to start looking. Deciding on your pram could take anywhere from a thirty minute visit, to multiple visits – there’s so much choice to consider! When in-store, you’ll receive as much, or as little help as you wish – we will give you space if that’s what you’d prefer, and we guarantee that you’ll be in a zero-pressure sales environment. We’ve always been that way, and will never change that ethos.
To help you in your journey to making a decision, we’ve aimed to create an environment to meet these needs. We’ve a large selection of various types and style of pram, from the leading manufacturers. We’ve also a large showroom with plenty of space for you to try out the products. We have a long indoor test track, with a ramp, small steps and kerb-sized step, along with a higher friction surface. On our grounds, we’ve a cobbled area, and two stone areas that have different resistance levels, and should really enable you to assess the majority of surfaces you’d likely encounter. You’re most than welcome to test any of our prams in these areas. We also have our own private car park, and we encourage you to check it’ll fit in the boot, along with your lifestyle. We believe that we’re the only store in Scotland that can give you all of these options.
Once you choose your pram and order from Little Peas, we commit to order from our supplier within 1-2 days – it doesn’t matter if you want us to hold onto it for months, or have only paid a small amount. We just want to bring it into our stock to be sure everyone has peace of mind. When you order, you can make a small deposit, a larger amount, or just pay in full – we’re happy with whatever is most comfortable to you. If you pay a deposit, you can pay top-up instalments, until you collect, or simply just pay the balance on collection. We’re super flexible!
As one of the largest pram centres in the country, we promise that we’ll do our best to ensure your pram buying experience is a good one; before, during and after. There are several types, including standard prams for daily use, travel systems that integrate car seats, jogging prams for active parents, and double prams for twins or siblings.
Consider your environment (urban vs. rural), travel habits, and daily routine. For city living, opt for lightweight and compact prams. For rough terrains, choose one with good suspension.
Pram prices vary widely. Set a budget considering both initial costs and long-term use. High-end models may have better resale value and durability.
Yes, many prams have features suitable for newborns, like fully reclining seats or compatibility with a carrycot or infant car seat.
It’s advisable to visit a store to test the pram’s maneuverability, folding mechanism, and comfort for your baby. This hands-on experience can be invaluable.
The weight is crucial, especially if you’ll be lifting it frequently into cars or carrying it up stairs. Lightweight models offer more convenience.
Look for adjustable handles, ample storage, weather protection (like rain covers), and ease of folding. These features add to the comfort and practicality of using the pram.
Regularly check for wear and tear, clean the fabrics according to manufacturer instructions, and ensure all moving parts are functioning smoothly. This prolongs the pram’s lifespan.
Online parent forums, product review sites, and speaking with other parents can provide insights. Also, consult staff at baby stores for professional advice.
