Built around self-adapting stretch fabric that grows with your child automatically, magnetic Click-&-Go Buckles that fasten with a single, satisfying snap, and a kangaroo pocket for skin-to-skin bonding moments, the Laya is a carrier that quietly removes the complexity from keeping your baby close.

Part of the Cybex Gold range and awarded the A.G.R. (Aktion Gesunder Rücken) award for back-friendly design, the Laya is suitable from 3.2 kg (from 50 cm in height) through to a maximum of 15 kg - covering birth to approximately three years in a single carrier.

Self-Adapting Fabric: No Adjustments Needed

Like its sibling the Cybex Amya, the Laya features an intuitive stretch back panel that automatically adapts to your baby's body shape and size as they grow. From a newborn's compact frame to a toddler's growing dimensions, the carrier adjusts without any manual intervention - meaning you never need to swap panels or reconfigure the fit between stages.

Magnetic Click-&-Go Buckles

The Laya's standout feature is its sleek magnetic buckle system. Rather than pressing two buttons simultaneously as with conventional buckles, the Laya's magnetic fasteners guide themselves into place and click securely closed with a smooth, natural motion. A safety button must be pressed and the buckle slid upward to release - keeping your baby safely secured during carries while remaining genuinely easy to operate for parents. This is a meaningful step forward in convenience, particularly when managing a wriggling baby with one hand.

Kangaroo Pocket for Bonding

Unique to the Laya, a kangaroo pocket - made from the same soft, breathable mesh fabric used throughout the carrier - allows you to slip a hand through to hold your baby directly during carries. It's a small but thoughtful feature that deepens the connection between parent and child, particularly in the early weeks when touch and closeness are so important.

Breathable 3D Mesh Fabric

Breathable 3D mesh runs across the back panel, kangaroo pocket, waist belt, and shoulder straps, providing consistent airflow to keep both parent and baby comfortable during warmer carries. This is especially useful during summer outings or active days when a standard carrier can quickly become uncomfortably warm.

Ergonomic Hip and Spine Support

The Laya is engineered to support healthy development throughout the carrying period. Knee padding combined with the back panel's elasticity encourages a natural M-shaped posture - knees raised above the bottom, hips correctly seated - which is the recommended position for healthy hip development in infants. The back panel simultaneously promotes a gentle C-shaped spinal curve, closely mimicking the natural posture of a held baby.

Carrying Positions

The Laya supports three ergonomic carrying positions:

• Front inward (newborn) - from birth to 3 years; neck support folds inward for maximum head and neck support in the earliest weeks
• Front outward - from approximately 4–6 months once your baby can hold their head independently; recommended for around 20 minutes at a time
• Back inward - from 6 months, giving your child an elevated view on longer walks

Detachable Coin Purse & Practical Details

The Laya includes a stylish detachable coin purse - a clever finishing touch that keeps a few essentials to hand without needing to carry a separate bag. It clips on and off easily, and can be removed before machine washing. The padded waist belt redistributes your baby's weight toward the lower back for comfortable lumbar support on longer carries, and the sternum strap helps distribute weight away from the shoulders when straps are worn parallel. Leg loops provide additional security for smaller babies between 3 and 4.5 kg, reducing leg opening circumference until your baby grows out of them.
