Rear-Facing From 6 Months to 7 Years

The Minikid 4 Max accommodates children from 61 cm to 125 cm in height and up to 36 kg in weight - meaning most children can remain rear-facing from around six months right through to school age. That's an exceptional usage window for a single seat, and it's made possible by 13 individually adjustable headrest positions and an extended backrest that grows with your child rather than limiting them.

Keeping children rear-facing for as long as possible is something we feel strongly about at Little Peas. In a rear-facing position, the forces of a frontal collision - the most common and severe type - are spread across a child's back, shoulders, and hips rather than concentrated on a forward-facing harness. The Minikid 4 Max is one of the very best tools available for achieving that extended rear-facing journey.

Minikid 4 Max: Swedish Plus Test Approved

The Plus Test goes significantly further than standard EU safety regulations. Seats are tested at higher impact speeds and in more demanding conditions, and fewer than a handful of seats on the UK market carry this approval. The Minikid 4 Max is one of them - a genuine mark of elite-level safety performance rather than a marketing claim.

Installation That Actually Works

One of the most common concerns parents raise about the Minikid range is installation. It uses a seat belt and tether strap system rather than ISOFIX - but far from being a compromise, this approach gives it compatibility with a wider range of vehicles than many ISOFIX seats.

Axkid has refined the installation process over multiple generations of this seat. The Minikid 4 Max features auto-retracting lower tether straps, SafeLock™ integrated belt locking, and a clear six-step guide that makes setup reliable and repeatable. Once the tether straps are routed under the seat rails on first fit, subsequent installations become genuinely quick. A support leg provides crucial anti-rotation stability.

CompactFit™: Slim Design, Generous Space

At 44 cm wide, the Minikid 4 Max is notably narrower than comparable ERF seats - 15 cm slimmer than many in its class - while still offering up to 30 cm of legroom for your child. That combination makes it one of the few extended rear-facing seats where fitting three across the back row is genuinely feasible in the right vehicle.

The slim profile also means it installs comfortably in a range of car models, from smaller family cars through to SUVs and MPVs.

Premium Daily Comfort with Minikid 4 Max

The Max designation reflects meaningful upgrades over the standard Minikid 4 Pro. You get a three-step recline (versus two on the Pro), magnetic harness holders that keep the straps clear when placing your child into the seat, and a colour-coded three-part adaptable inlay that adjusts as your child grows. The seat textiles are soft, breathable, and removable for machine washing at 30 ° C.
